From a young age the idea of certainty is continuously drilled into us. You must believe, they tell us, in yourself, your morals, and your capability, and you must do so without a doubt. What they fail to mention is that no amount of certainty will determine anything. Instead, by allowing certainty to create a rigid mindset you are suppressing the room that was left for growth. Our staunch society has created a mass of individuals who are so stuck in their ways that an ounce of doubt is blasphemy. Many of us lack the ability to embrace doubt and all of the knowledge that can come along with it. Doubt, despite common belief, is not as degrading as we make it out to be, rather it's an open door to a sound balance of understanding and insight.
